1 Daily Ad System Check

Description: This Daily Ad System Check is performed to verify the integrity of the Blackstone Ad Delivery System.

1.1 A1 - Preparation

1.1.1 Steps

Step Name	Description	Expected Result	Actual Result
Step 1	Click Start button on the task bar and click the "Run...".	a Run window is opened at the down left corner of the desktop.
Step 2	Type "regedit" in the run window and press " ok"	A new window "Registory Editor" is opened.
Step 3	In the "Registory Editor " window search for the " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Transponder" key in the left side window and in the rightside window you should see all the details of the above . if not Install the transponder now. (Refer Install/UnInstall transponder steps)	This shows the transponder is installed in your machine. you must see the file details of the transponder.
Step 4	If the "DebugMode" is present in the right side window and if not follow from the step 5	"DebugMode" key should be present in the rightside window of the "Registry window" and its value should be "1" (if the value not "1" follow next step(step 6).
Step 5	if no key named "DebugMode " is seen right click the mouse on the right side window --- new --- select DWORD value ---a new key should be seen on the right window--- give the name " DebugMode" for it (by right click ---modify).	A new key should be seen on the right window with the name given as" DebugMode" (case is important)
Step 6	set the value by double clicking on "DebugMode" key in the rightside of the "Registory Editor" window, you will see a " Edit DWORD value window " opened select the option " Decimal" and change the value to "1".	"DebugMode" value should be "1".
Step 7	Check for the "MesgDisplayCounter" key on the rightside window of the "Registry editor". if found set the value by double clicking on it, you will see a " Edit DWORD value window " opened.select the option " Decimal" and change the value to "0".	"MesgDisplayCounter" value should be "0".
Step 8	Check for the "LastAdTime key" on the rightside window of the "Registry editor".if found set the value by double clicking on it.you will see a " Edit DWORD value window " opened. select the option " Decimal" and delete its value and make it to "".	the value of "LastAdTime" key should be "".
Step 9	Start the IE browser now	Should see the (grey screen) popup window, in the details of it should say " AdContext="ROUTINE_CHECKIN"
Step 10	press " ok" to the (grey screen) popup window. another popup (grey screen) is opened and say "ok".	All the popup windows are closed.
Step 11	You should see a Ad popup window on the desktop	"Ad popup" window is seen on the desktop.
Step 12	Record the Ad popUp window details (placement, focus)	The Ad popup window's placement and focus are recorded.
Step 13	Click on the Ad popup window .	the Ad popup window should refresh to the Ad's home page and resize.
Step 14	Close all the Ad popup windows	All the Ad popup windows are closed.
Step 15	Now go to the "Registry Editor" window and hit key " F5" to refresh the "Registry Editor".	the "Registry Editor" is refreshed with the fresh values from the "ROUTINE CHECKIN".
Step 16	Note the value of the following keys "MesgDisplayCounter" and " LastAdTime"	the value for "MesgDisplayCounter" should be ~= 700 and the Value for " LastAdTime" should be in the this format 997890604|0|0|0.
Step 17	Close the " Registry Editor" window.	" Registry Editor" window is closed..
Step 18	Keep the browser window open ( don't close the current browser window)	The browser is kept open.

1.2.1 Steps

Step 1	Click Start button on the task bar and click the "Run...".	A Run window is opened at the down left corner of the desktop.
Step2	Type "regedit" in the Run window and press " ok"	A new window "Registory Editor" is opened.
Step 3	In the "Registory Editor " window search for the " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Transponder" key in the left side window and in the rightside window you should see all the details of the above . if not Install the transponder now. Step 4	In the rightside window record the details of the keys (follow the next step)	The key details are seen in the right side window and the next step is followed.
Step 5	Record the "BatchTrigger" key value	It should be = 5000
Step 6	Record the value of "CustomerInsurance" key	It should be = 2
Step 7	Record the value of " DistID" key	It should be = Octav3005
Step 8	Record the value of " EventCounter "	It should be the greater than the previous value (previous test ).
Step 9	Record the value of " HighestListIndex " value	It should be apprx > 300
Step 10	Record the value of " InstID" last 6 digits	It should be the same as the previous value ( ie the machine Transponder ID it should not change). and the value is recorded.
Step 11	Record the value of "LastAdCode"	It should be = 1
Step 12	Record the value of "LastAdTime"	It should be approx this format "997890604|0|0|0" ie ( number | 0 | 0 | 0 ).
Step 13	Record the value of " MessageDisplayCounter"	It should be approx = 700
Step 14	Record the value of "MotsThreshold"	It should be = 20
Step 15	Record the value of " SysInfoTrigger"	It shoould be = 500

Step 2	Surf to "www.mindseti.com" browse for approx 20 pages in their site.	You should able to see a "MOTS CHECkIN" (grey color windows) windows say "ok" to them.

Step 4	Note the Placement of the window ( centered, right, left, top, bottom etc) and focus	record the Placement and focus. can you see the entire advertisement on the desktop?.

1.7.1 Steps

Step 1	Login into "Oasis" by " http://ads.blackstonedata.net/mgmt/ " user=admin password = admin	Should see the menu bar in the " oasis page "
Step 2	Goto " Admin " in the menu. Select the " Daily/Hourly Targets" in the Delivery Engine Internals.	The target List is seen now.
Step 3	Open another browser window " http://ads.blackstonedata.net/mgmt/campaign.php " with this URL.	another window is opened which shows the campaign list.
Step 4	Go down the window set the filter to active by selecting the "active " check box and uncheck the other check box's at the bottom of the window .Click the button "filter"	Now the "active campaign list" is seen on the window.
Step 5	Compare the "Target " and the active " campaign" window now. keep the window side by side and compare.	For every active campaign ther should be an entry in the targets list ,other wise the campaign is not really activated.

Step 3	In the Column " Campaign/Creative " click the "Creative of the Ad" Usually second part of the each row	It will refresh with a new window named " Creative Details " .
Step 4	In the "Content" part click the "Preview rich media"	a PopUp window is opened.
Step 5	Note the placement and focus of the AD pop up window	Record the placement and focus of the Ad popup window. Can you see the entire advertisement on the desktop?.
Step 6	Click on the Ad popup window	The Ad popup window should resize and meta-refresh to the click thru page.
Step 7	Close the popUp window	the PopUp window is closed.
Step 8	Click the " back" button in the browser	the window refreshes to the previous window that is " Targets " window.
Step 9	Repeat from step3 to step7 for all the Target	All should show the exact reult mentioned in step3 to step7.

1.9.1 Steps

Step 2	Goto " Admin " in the menu. Select the " Daily/Hourly Targets" in the Delivery Engine Internals.	The target List is seen now.
Step 3	In the Column " Campaign/Creative " .Click the First part of the row(ie.campaign).	It will refresh with a new window named " Campaign Details " .
Step 4	Double click on campaign Detail. Usually the first part of the row.	the windows refresh and opens "campaign Detail " window.
Step 5	Scroll down the window you will able to see the " Section Assignment " at the bottom of the window	a list of section is seen.
Step 6	Select one new section each day (eg: www.unicast.com )	a section is noted down or selected.
Step 7	Goto " registry Editor" HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Transponder.	"Registry editor" window is seen.
Step 8	Double click on the" LastAdTime" key and delete the value of the " LastAdTime"	"edit String" window is opened and the value of " LastAdTime" is deleted.
Step 9	Stop the browser and restart ( close and open )	the browser is restarted.
Step 10	go to the URL you have seleted from the active campaign section	the home page of the URL is opened.
Step 11	Browse for 2 to 5 pages	a pop up window is opened for that campaign you have selected.
Step 12	Note the placement and focus of the AD pop up window	Record the placement and focus of the Ad popup window. Can you see the entire advertisement on the desktop?.
Step 13	Click on the Ad PopUp window	The Ad popup window should resize and meta-refresh to the click thru page.
Step 14	Close the popup window	PopUp window is closed.
Step 15	Repeat the step3 to step14 for all the "campaign " in the active campaign	all the result should perform the same as mentioned in the step3 to step14

2.2.1 Steps

Step 3	Enter the details of your " email address" ," first name", "last name" , " date of birth" , " address" , "city" , "state" ,"zip" and Click submit.	The screen refreshs to download window.
Step 4	Click the "Download " button	"Save As" window is opened .
Step 5	Select a directory and file name to save the file and press "ok".	A download window opens and starts downloading the file the directory.
Step 6	After download is done. Click the "Install" in the " Download" window	The screen goes to the " MInset Installer" window.
Step 7	Click the following to the up comming windows .--- next ---yes---	After the two " mindset installer" window the software gets installed.and "IEHelper" window is opened.
Step 8	Click "yes" in the " IEHelper" window.	The " Installer" says " Installed sucessfully". click "ok".
Step 8	Click Start button on the task bar and click the "Run...".	a Run window is opened at the down left corner of the desktop.
Step 9	Type " regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\IEHelper.dll" and press "ok"	A gray popup window shows "DllRegisterServer in c:\windows\system32\IEHelper.dll is suceeded". Click "ok".
Step 9	Close all the window and restart the window.	The System is restarted.

2.3.1 Steps

Step 1	Click IE browser and type the following URL "http://download.blackstonedata.net/regpop/C3005Octav/IEHelper.cab" and press enter.	You should able to see the " File Download " window , which select the " save to disk " option.
Step 2	The save as window will open select some directory to save the "IEHelper.cab" file.	You should see the "Download Complete".
Step 3	In the "Download Complete" window click the "Open" button .	WinZip window is opened.
Step 4	Select "I agree" button in the winzip window	Winzip "Extract window" is opened .
Step 5	Select the "IEHelper.inf " and IEHelper.dll" file and click th extract button in the winzip menu.	Extract window is opened.
Step 6	Say Extract to :C:\WINNT\system32 and click Extract button.	Its extracts and goes back to the winzip window.
Step 7	Close all the window and Restart the system	System Restarts .
Step 8	Click Start button on the task bar and click the "Run...".	a Run window is opened at the down left corner of the desktop.
Step 9	Type " regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\IEHelper.dll" and press "ok"	A gray popup window shows "DllRegisterServer in c:\windows\system32\IEHelper.dll is suceeded". Click "ok".
Step 10	Open IE browser and Browse "http://www.marketguide.com/home.asp"	You will see the home page of http://www.marketguide.com/home.asp.
Step 11	Click "Start" and select "Run" and type "regedit" in the Run window.	You should able to see the folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Transponder in it.
Step 12	Check for some the key "InstID" in the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Transponder " in the folder.	The " InstID " key is seen in the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Transponder " in the folder.

3 UnInstall Transponder

3.1.1 Steps

Step 1	Click "Start" in the task bar,Select "Control Panel"	"Control Panel Window is opened"
Step 2	IN "Control Panel" window select "ADD/REMOVE Programs" Look For "BlackStone"	"BlackStone" should be found in the "ADD/REMOVE Programs"
Step 3	If "BlackStone" is found Select it and click the "Remove" button to remove it	"BlackStone" Should be removed.
Step 4	If "BlackStone" is not present in the "ADD/REMOVE Programs" close all the browsers.	All the browers should be closed.
Step 5	Click "Start" select Search button and search for "IEHelper.dll" in the "C: drive".	"IEHelper.dll" file should be found.
Step 6	Delete the "IEHelper.dll"	The "IEHelper.dll" should be deleted.
Step 7	Click "Start" select Search button and search for "domlst.cch" in the "C: drive".	"domlst.cch" file should be found.
Step 8	Delete the "domlst.cch"	The "domlst.cch" should be deleted.
Step 9	IF the system does not permit the file to be deleted . Select "START" then select "Run" type "regedit". and say "ok".	A new "Registory Editor" window is opened.
Step 10	In the left side of the Registory editor Select the key and its subkeys as follows. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-----SOFTWARE-----Microsoft-----Windows---CurrentVersion-----Explorer-----BrowserHelperObjects\	You should find the "{00000000-5eb9-11d5-9d45-009027c14662}" key
Step 11	delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{00000000-5eb9-11d5-9d45-009027c14662}	its deleted.
Step 12	Reboot the computer and Click "Start"and click "Search" for "IEHelper.dll"	you should able to find "IEHelper.dll" file now.
Step 13	Now delete IEHelper.dll	The "IEHelper.dll" should be able delete now.
Step 14	Reboot the Computer now and search for "IEHelper.dll"	You should not be able to find the "IEhelper.dll" file any where in your system.
Step 15	Click Start button on the task bar and click the "Run...".	a Run window is opened at the down left corner of the desktop.
Step 16	Type "regedit" in the run window and press " ok"	A new window "Registory Editor" is opened.
Step 17	Search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{00000000-5eb9-11d5-9d45-009027c14662} the key if still found the key follow next step.	You should not find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{00000000-5eb9-11d5-9d45-009027c14662} key.
