But really... Gearbox, as listed on your page http://cexx.org/hphijack.htm
is not as evil as you may report. Though it does set the homepage, it
doesn't use any backdoors nor does it permanently set the homepage. What it
does do is move the location of the editable setting.

Here's how to "fix" it.

Open My Computer
Open Internet Connections
Right-Click on the icon for your ISP
Click on Properties
(this opens an editor that gives you access to most of your Internet
settings in one place)
Click on the right arrow near the tabs a few times until you get to the Web
panel
Set your homepage there
Hit Save
